Female Entrepreneurs – The courage to have success

How much courage does it take to launch a startup company? What is crucial to know about the insurance industry in order for insurtechs to become successful? What does it take to step up and say “Yes to Success” from an entrepreneur’s personal view?

To discuss those questions the Swiss Insurtech Hub is proud to bring together and amazing panel of female insurtech CEOs and insurance industry thought leaders who will share and discuss their stories and experiences on female entrepreneurship.

By hosting this panel, it is our goal to spark thought provoking discussions and to promote awareness about the importance of diversity in both the insurtech and the insurance community.

• Katja Rieger, Founder at Xponential

Following a successful international career at GE and Swiss Re, Katja founded her own companies and offers Training & Consulting to align strategy and culture. Her experience allows her to create credible and sustainable change, inspiring leadership and productive environments, that are great to work at.

Katja has lived & worked on 5 continents. She knows how to use the powerful impact of purpose, culture and leadership to achieve challenging goals even in volatile ambiguous situations. As risk is daily business for executives and boards. She helps create the environment and the structure how to make the best decisions, that take both short-term opportunities and long-term sustainability into account. Future of Work, ESG, Neurodiversity and supporting change for meaningful causes, are the topics that she drives. Striving towards an environment, where our humanity makes us successful together, is her vision.

• Isabelle Santenac, Global Insurance Leader at EY

Isabelle has more than 30 years of experience in leading large multinational teams, complex audits of listed institutions and projects for firms going through significant changes​. She has served a broad range of financial services clients including investment banks, retail banks, insurance companies, reinsurance companies.

Between 2008 and 2012 Isabelle was the EY Global Assurance Chief Operating Officer and launched the Global Audit Transformation program ($400m investment), including overseeing the development of data analytics techniques to use in our audits. Between December 2012 and June 2019, Isabelle was the Managing Partner of EY’s European Financial Services Assurance business. From 2012 to 2018 she was the Global lead audit Partner on Société Générale. Currently, she is the Global Lead audit partner of Zurich Insurance Group.

• Stephanie Lloyd, CEO at Livewell

Stephanie Lloyd is the CEO of LiveWell by Zurich where she is responsible for leading a new digital health and wellbeing solution globally. With a focus on customer obsession and innovation, Stephanie is passionate about positively impacting health outcomes worldwide.

Prior to this role Stephanie Lloyd was the Founder and President of the digital insurance brand Toggle®, which has grown to $50m in premium since launching in late 2018. She has a proven track record in launching new business models and products, navigating through complex regulatory environments, and building high-performing teams. An insurance industry professional with 15+ years of experience, Stephanie is a member of the Zurich Group Leadership team. Digital Insurance honored Stephanie with the 2019 Woman in Insurance Leadership award which recognizes excellence across technology and business. She was also a finalist for the 2019 Future is Female award by AdWeek. In 2021 she was selected for the Leadership in the Age of Personalization consortium.

• Jana Maleckova, Founder & CEO at Everifin

Jana is a co-founder of Usability Engineering Center company that has been developing a fintech platform Everifin. Everifin is a universal internet banking in which users can connect all their banks from the EU countries. The platform allows users to issue and pay invoices just by one click. It also brings retailers faster, cheaper and more secure open banking payments. Jana is experienced in start-up fundraising, interested in management of the fast growth-type start-ups & global scale-ups. Jana has three kids.

• Renu Ann Joseph, Founder & CEO at Luminant Analytics

Renu is an economist turned entrepreneur who is passionate about Data Science, especially in using data so that businesses are data driven. She has two startups – one in the insurtech area, with a focus on US and the other in the Data Science space; which is Swiss focused.

She is an Indian-American, who is now choosing to make Switzerland her home and when she is not building companies, she enjoys discovering nature, cities, cooking and food in Europe. She is based out of Basel, and is an advocate for the beautiful city.
